Rev Piyadassi, President of NIRN Nepal sees each religion as a strong force and believes that when all religions come together, it not only creates religious harmony but its combined force is even stronger. As such, the collaborative efforts hold answers to the abolition of social evils with central guidelines from NIRN Nepal in partnership with WVI Nepal has been running MORAL Values Project in six districts.
” The weight of responsibility as a President for the past months has been challenging as well as exciting for me. I am amazed at how well interfaith committees have managed to bring faith leaders of different backgrounds to work towards a common goal of children’s well-being and to promote gender equality in the community. The stories that come from the field are really interesting and I enjoy those. The leaders at the grassroots level are really working hard and we have great success on many levels, stopping child marriages, against dowry practices and GBV, and changing the mindsets of people. I believe this Project holds much promise. “
