Disability Inclusion(DI)

Religions believe every creation to be a part of divine and are worthy of divine compassion equally no matter how one is born. Disability is viewed as “results of sins from past lives” and is often times associated with social prestige among families. Interfaith leaders have power to change people’s mindset in relation to disability; therefore, NIRN-Nepal works with interfaith leaders, faith-based organizations, Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) Leaders in creating an inclusive society for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and Children with Disabilities (CwDs) where they are valued with dignity and respect and promote wellbeing for all children.

The initiative from the interfaith network and NIRN Nepal to provide tricycles for children with disabilities is a commendable effort. This support helps these children access education more easily and promotes inclusivity and equality in schooling. It’s heartening to see communities coming together to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive. Such initiatives can make a significant difference in their lives and empower them to participate more fully in society.
